Apply for 10,000 Small Businesses before October

The Chamber is pleased to announce the launch of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses (GS 10KSB) program in Salt Lake City, Utah, a 15 million dollar investment to provide regional small business owners with a practical business education, access to capital and business support services.

Salt Lake Community College is delivering the program in partnership with the Salt Lake Chamber and with the Pete Suazo Business Center, the Salt Lake Small Business Development Center, the Utah Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the Utah Small Business Development Center Network.

To date, over 780 small business owners have participated in Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program in seven cities across the U.S. Approximately 70 percent of the alumni from the program have grown their revenues and 50 percent have created new jobs.

The 10,000 Small Businesses curriculum has been designed and will be co-delivered by Babson College, the national leader in entrepreneurship education. The program is offered at no cost to eligible business owners and begins in January 2013.  Business owners can learn more about eligibility criteria and apply to participate at www.slcc.edu/10ksb. The deadline for applications is October 1. 

Salt Lake Community College is offering a number of information sessions and application workshops for business owners interested in participating in the GS 10KSB program, which are listed below.

Information sessions will be held at the College’s Miller Campus:

- September 14, 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m., Miller Professional Development Center, Room 224

Application workshops will be held at the College’s Miller Campus and at the Library Square Campus:

- September 6, 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Library Square Campus, Room 111
- September 20, 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Miller Campus–Miller Corporate Partnership Center, Room 330
- September 27, 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Library Square Campus, Room 111
