Utah just keeps earning top rankings this year, from being the number one pro-business state to one of the future economic boom states.

Well, now the Gallup Healthways Well-Being Index recently determined that Utah is the best state for future livability. In other words, if you don’t already live in Utah, you may want to consider moving here.

“Results like these continue to prove that Utah really is the best state in the nation now, and Utah is well positioned for long-term success,” said Governor Gary R. Herbert. “The State’s strong showing in economic factors mirrors Utah’s successful approach to building a positive environment where businesses thrive and grow. I am confident that Utah will maintain this ranking for years to come.”

The index ranked states on several metrics that indicate a positive lifestyle environment now and in the future—and Utah’s ranking was significantly ahead of the rest of the country.

This ranking combined with the positive economic outlook and an environment for businesses to thrive and grow shows that the Beehive State is very well positioned for long-term success.

Utah was ranked in the top 10 in 11 of the 13 criteria, including low smoking habits, ease of finding clean and safe water, learning something new or interesting on any given day, economic confidence, job creation and an improved standard of living. In five of those metrics, Utah was ranked in the top two.

The states that rounded out the top five best states to live in the future are Minnesota, Colorado, Nebraska and North Dakota.

How do you feel about Utah’s ranking as the best place to live? Do you agree or disagree?
