Whether you’re a government agency, Fortune 500 company, or a brick and mortar small business, cyber threats are inevitable.
Yet time and again, we see large data breaches often as a result of inaction. Cybersecurity is a shared responsibility.
An important phrase for businesses to remember is: “If you collect it you must protect it.” In a connected, online society others may suffer as a result of a business’s’ failure to act.
The Salt Lake Chamber, in partnership with the U.S.Chamber of Commerce will host a Cybersecurity Conference, March 23, aimed at helping businesses of all sizes develop, evaluate, and strengthen cybersecurity programs.
The conference is part of the U.S. Chamber’s Cybersecurity advocacy campaign, and will be the first hosted in 2017.
This event will host national government, private sector and law enforcement experts in cybersecurity.
You won’t want to miss out on this informative conference.

In case you haven’t heard, March is Women’s History Month and the Salt Lake Chamber is taking part in the celebration.
This month has been declared as a worldwide celebration of women and highlights their contribution to events in history and contemporary society.
Against social convention and often legal restraints, women have created a legacy that expands the frontiers of possibility for generations to come.
This year the Salt Lake Chamber is honoring the extraordinary accomplishments, determination and tenacity of women by sharing stories of many of the amazing women in our community.
We’ve chosen to highlight the following women:
- Amanda Covington, of VISTA Outdoor
- Theresa Foxley, of EDCUtah
- Jennifer Napier-Pearce, of the Salt Lake Tribune
- And Melanie Vartabedian, Ballard Spahr
We hope you join us in recognizing these extraordinary women in our community.
