Honoring the 2018 ATHENA and Pathfinder Winners

SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH (November 16, 2018) – Today the Salt Lake Chamber, Utah’s largest and longest-serving statewide business association, honored Cindy Crane, CEO of Rocky Mountain Power, as the 2018 ATHENA Leadership Award recipient at this year’s Women & Business Conference and ATHENA Awards Luncheon.

“Cindy is a thoughtful and impressive leader who has done much for the business community, whether it is modernizing Utah’s tax code or improving our air quality,” said Derek Miller, president and CEO of the Salt Lake Chamber and Downtown Alliance. “Cindy is also a staunch advocate for her employees; from helping to open an on-site health clinic to being available as a mentor. Cindy’s example of volunteer service motivates others to follow in her footsteps and have an impact on their community. We could not be more delighted to honor her as the newest ATHENA.”

The ATHENA Leadership Award is a prestigious national award presented annually to an active member of the Salt Lake Chamber who demonstrates excellence, creativity and initiative in business. Each recipient must also provide valuable service by devoting time and energy to improve the quality of life for others in the community and assist women in reaching their full leadership potential.

“Every day I wake up with the same mission: To make a difference in the lives of my employees, customers and communities through my leadership,” said Crane. “I am truly honored and humbled to join an amazing group of Utah women leaders to receive the Salt Lake Chamber’s 2018 ATHENA Award.”

In addition to the ATHENA Leadership Award, six Pathfinder Awards were handed out at the conference. The Pathfinder Awards are presented annually to community leaders who create new paths promoting the development and recognition of women in business.
