DAY 1: USA – ROMANIA
Depart the USA for overnight flight to Romania.
DAY 2: ARRIVAL IN BUCHAREST, ROMANIA
Transfer to your hotel for two nights in Bucharest.
DAY 3: BRASOV & BRAN CASTLE (TRANSYLVANIA)
Take a full day tour via motorcoach to visit Brasov and Bran Castle in Transylvania. Lunch is included. Brasov is located in the central part of Romania. It is surrounded by the Southern Campaniles and is part of the Transylvania region. Visit the Black Church of Brasov before continuing to Bran Castle, commonly known as Dracula’s Castle. Built in the 14th century, Bran Castle was initially a border fortress on the Transylvanian and Wallachian border. It became a castle only in 1920 when Transylvania was united to the rest of Romania at the end of First World War. In the afternoon, return to Bucharest and enjoy the evening at leisure.
DAY 4: BUCHAREST CITY TOUR – BOARD MS AMADEUS QUEEN
Transfer to Fetesti, Romania and board the MS Amadeus Queen for seven nights. Enjoy a Bucharest City Tour to learn about Romania’s largest city & the country’s capital, and see the gigantic neoclassical Palace of Parliament. Bucharest is known for its wide, tree-lined boulevards and nicknamed “Little Paris,” which is reflected in elegant early 20th-century French influenced architecture. Bucharest suffered greatly from its communist past but has managed strong economic growth over the last 20 years which has modernized the city.
DAY 5: SAINT GEORGE VILLAGE, ROMANIA
Cruise to Saint George, Romania. The Danube Delta Boat Safari tour* is optional today.
DAY 6: HIRSOVA – CONSTANTA & BLACK SEA COAST, ROMANIA
Morning arrival in Hirsova, Romania. Afternoon excursion to Constanta & the Black Sea Coast. See the golden sand beaches of the Black Sea during a visit to Constanta, the oldest inhabited city in Romania and an important cultural & economic center. The ancient metropolis was founded by Greek colonists in the 6th century and features a charming historic center & the famous Genovese Lighthouse.
DAY 7: SVISHTOV, BULGARIA
Morning cruising through the Bulgarian countryside. Take an optional Veliko Tarnovo excursion.* Board a motorcoach to Veliko Tarnovo, a medieval Bulgarian town picturesquely located on the steep banks of the Yantra River at the foot of the Balkan Mountains featuring houses built on narrow terraces along the rocky slopes. Make a photo stop at the Zarewaz Fortress (Tsarevets) and visit the 13th century medieval St. Peter & Paul church. Enjoy time to see the local arts and crafts on the main shopping street. Afternoon arrival in Svishtov, Bulgaria.
DAY 8: IRON GATES
Relax for a full day of cruising as we pass through the Iron Gates. The natural beauty of the Danube River is on full display as you make your way around bends and through the picturesque Iron Gates. This beautiful passage of the lower Danube between two mountain ranges is one of the world’s most scenic river gorges forming a natural border between Serbia & Romania. Two hydroelectric dams control the water flow allowing travelers to cruise peacefully and admire enormous white chalk cliffs, caves & rock sculptures.
DAY 9: BELGRADE, SERBIA
Morning arrival in Belgrade, Serbia. Enjoy a Belgrade City Tour. Discover Serbia’s beautiful capital, Belgrade, whose history dates back some 7,000 years. Enjoy a Belgrade City Tour to see the Orthodox cathedral and walk through the city’s most famous landmark, the Belgrade Fortress, an imposing structure at the confluence of the Danube and the Sava Rivers. Belgrade features gracious architecture and is now a modern European city, known as “the city that never sleeps.”
DAY 10: MOHACS, HUNGARY
Morning arrival in Mohacs, Hungary. Mohacs Walking Tour. Take an optional afternoon Puszta excursion.* Visit the tiny harbor town of Mohacs, a melting pot of nations near the Croatian Border. Learn about two historic battles centered here, explore the waterfront & the famous Chapel of St. Rochus during your Mohacs Walking Tour.
DAY 11: DISEMBARK MS AMADEUS QUEEN – BUDAPEST, HUNGARY
Disembark MS Amadeus Queen and take a morning Budapest City Tour. The afternoon is at leisure in Budapest. Enjoy an optional tour* of the Royal Palace of Gödöllő.
DAY 12: BUDAPEST – FLIGHTS HOME
Transfer to the Budapest Airport or extend your visit in Prague*. Budapest, the capital city of Hungary, is often described as the “Pearl of the Danube.” The capital has two sides, Buda & Pest, divided by the Danube River. Suburban Buda and its historic castle district offers medieval streets, museums and Roman ruins. The dynamic Pest side boasts the largest parliament building in Europe, riverside promenades, flea markets, antique stores and cafés. During your Budapest City Tour start with Pest’s National Opera House & historic Heroes’ Square while in Buda stroll Fisherman’s Hill to Fisherman’s Bastion & Mathias Church.

Not ready to go home? Extend your stay in Prague, the capital and largest city in the Czech Republic. This optional extension includes three-nights hotel in Prague, a Tour Manager, four meals (three breakfasts and a folklore dinner show) and a Prague City Tour.
Day 12: BUDAPEST – PRAGUE, CZECH REPUBLIC
Travel to Prague for a three-night stay in “The City of a Hundred Spires”
Day 13: PRAGUE
A morning sightseeing tour of Prague includes a visit to the Royal Castle District at Hradcany, former residence of the Bohemian kings. Enjoy magnificent views of the city and Charles Bridge below as well as a visit to St. Vitus Cathedral. Following your tour, enjoy an afternoon at leisure. You may want to view St. George’s Basilica, the oldest church in the Castle complex and best preserved Romanesque basilica in Prague.
Day 14: PRAGUE – DAY AT LEISURE
Enjoy the day at leisure in Prague or take an optional excursion.** Leave Prague behind as you drive into a scenic landscape of villages, hills, and fields to the village of Karlstejn 18 miles away. Charles IV, King of Bohemia, built this medieval castle from 1348 to 1357 to safeguard the royal treasures, especially his collection of holy relics an the coronation jewels of the Holy Roman Empire. This gothic castle is unique with the original decorations and wall paintings dating back to the 14th century. The castle’s medieval turrets, towers and high walls evoke a fairy-tale ambiance and make it one of the Czech Republic’s most visited attractions. Enjoy a walking tour with your guide to experience this beautiful castle with great historical significance.
Day 15: PRAUGE — USA
After breakfast you will be transferred to Prague airport to board your flight back to the USA.
