The Law firm of Parr Brown Gee & Loveless is pleased to announce that Briggs Matheson joined the firm as a shareholder in the commercial litigation section. Mr. Matheson brings a broad range of experience representing companies, individuals, and government entities in high-stakes civil and criminal proceedings involving fraud, breach-of-contract, intellectual property, securities, and sensitive corporate investigations.
Prior to joining Parr Brown, Mr. Matheson served as a federal prosecutor in the Northern District of California, where he prosecuted a variety of criminal cases in the District Court and Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. He also served as a Deputy City Attorney for the City & County of San Francisco as a member of the City Attorney’s Office Trial Team. Mr. Matheson previously worked as an associate at Keker, Van Nest & Peters LLP, in San Francisco, California, where he helped to secure litigation victories for established companies, start-ups, and executives in a variety of complex disputes involving trade secrets, breach-of-contract, patent infringement, and securities issues.
Mr. Matheson earned his J.D. from Stanford Law School and B.A. from Stanford University. He clerked for Judge Marsha Berzon of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
