C.W. Group, a real estate development company based in Centerville, Utah has named Darlene Carter as Chief Executive Officer.

C.W. Group comprises four divisions (C.W. Land Co., C.W. Urban, Cole West Home, and Cole West Development) focused on developing master planned communities, residential lots, urban in-fill communities, and mixed-use properties throughout the state of Utah. The company is founded on the principles of creating value through thoughtful land planning, progressive architecture, and exceptional project-level execution.

Carter previously served as President of C.W. Urban, a division of C.W. Group, from 2017-2020. C.W. Urban is a Utah based architecture, general contractor, and development firm specializing in urban and suburban single family and multifamily developments. Carter was named President of C.W. Group, the parent company of C.W. Urban, in 2020.

 

In her new role, she will be responsible for overseeing all company deliverables and has participated in raising over a billion dollars in residential for sale and for rent project funding. She is proficient in recognizing and capitalizing on changing market trends and demographics, building brand recognition, strategic planning, operations, and systems development to execute business plans, proforms budgeting, and building and developing successful teams.

Carter previously served in various leadership roles of many of the top homebuilders in Utah including Oakwood Homes, Henry Walker Homes and Woodside Homes. Carter joined Colin Wright, founder of C.W. Group, in 2010 at the inception of Henry Walker Homes and transitioned into a new role in 2017 as Division President of C.W. Urban, in the company’s early growth period.

A graduate of Utah State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Communications, she has served as a Licensed Real Estate Agent and Broker since 2005. Carter is currently enrolled in the MRED program at the University of Utah and serves as the Co-Chair for the Downtown Alliance Development Committee. Carter is also a board member of Envision Utah and ULI Utah.  Carter was named Utah Business 30 women to watch in 2018, and Utah Business 40 under 40 in 2020.
