Ensign College has announced plans for its upcoming 2021 Commencement exercises to be held Friday, April 9. In support of efforts to reduce the spread of COVID-19, the 2021 Commencement will be held virtually. This will be the first Commencement for the College since changing its name from LDS Business College to Ensign College in September of last year. Ensign College holds one Commencement in the spring of each year to celebrate graduates from the previous three semesters.
Similar to the 2020 Commencement exercises, students, family and friends of graduates can view a stream of the day’s events on the Church’s website. Links to the stream will be available on the Ensign College website.
Elder Quentin L. Cook, of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, is scheduled to speak to graduates along with remarks from Elder Paul V. Johnson, the Commissioner of Church Education, President Bruce C. Kusch and graduating students. Additionally, specific efforts have been taken to recognize each graduate as they gather with friends and family remotely to celebrate their significant achievements.
The safety of students and employees continues to be a priority of the College. With that in mind, a live virtual Graduate Celebration will take place the evening before, on Thursday, April 8. Graduates from each College program will be recognized with graduate leadership and service awards.
