2021 Economic Outlook & Public Policy Summit COVID-19 Health and Safety Guidelines
GUIDING PRINCIPLES
- Attendees will be asked to follow local health department guidelines and levels of restrictions.
- Attendance will be limited to allow for social distancing.
- The event will follow the “Stay Safe to Stay Open” core safe seven principles.
STAY HOME
- Employees and attendees should stay home if they or a member of the same household have tested positive for COVID-19 or are showing COVID-19 symptoms, such as a fever of 100.4 F or higher, cough, shortness of breath, decrease in sense of smell or taste, sore throat, or muscle aches and pains.
- Attendees should stay home and monitor their health if they have had close contact with a person who has symptoms of COVID-19 within the past 14 days.
- Higher-risk individuals are encouraged to join virtually for the events program.
PHYSICAL DISTANCING
- Attendees are asked to maintain the appropriate social distance of at least 6 feet apart upon entry, exit, exhibit hall and transition between breakout sessions.
- Physical guides will be provided, such as signs to ensure that individuals remain at least 6 feet apart.
- No congregating.
MASKS
- All attendees and staff will be required to wear masks when not actively eating or drinking.
HAND HYGIENE & RESPIRATORY ETIQUETTE
- Hand sanitizer will be provided around the venue as well as be available immediately adjacent to bathrooms.
- Attendees are encouraged to wash hands often and cover coughs and sneezes.
- Attendees are discouraged from exchanging handshakes, fist bumps, and high-fives.
- No-touch trash cans will be available around the venue.
SIGNS & MESSAGES
- Signs will be posted in highly visible locations (e.g., at entrances, in restrooms) that promote everyday protective measures and describe how to stop the spread of germs by properly washing hands and properly wearing a mask.
- Regular announcements will be broadcast during the event reminding attendees of COVID-19 precautions.
- Physical guides will be provided, such as signs to ensure that individuals remain at least 6 feet apart.
- Staff will be available to remind guests of health and safety guidelines.
CLEANING PRECAUTIONS
- High-touch surfaces will be cleaned and disinfected within the venue and will be cleaned between uses as much as possible.
FOOD PRECAUTIONS
- Disposable food service items including utensils and dishes will be used.
- Pre-packaged boxes will be provided for each food item and for each attendee.
- No self-serve items, such as utensils, lids, cups, plates, will be set out for attendees to use.
- Catering staff will be wearing gloves when handling ready-to-eat foods (including ice).
RESTROOMS
- Signs or markers will be posted to help attendees maintain the appropriate social distance of at least 6 feet.
- Restrooms will be cleaned and disinfected regularly using EPA-registered disinfectants.
MODIFIED LAYOUT
- Attendance will be limited to allow for social distancing.
- Controlled entrance and exit points will be maintained to enable physical distancing guidelines.
- Areas will be blocked off in order to space people at least 6 feet apart.
- People are reminded to stay at least 6 feet apart. Signs and other visual cues such as tape or chalk marks will be provided.
- Physical guides, such as signs, will be provided to ensure that individuals remain at least 6 feet apart in lines and at other times (e.g., guides for creating one-way routes).
- Seating layout will be limited so that people can remain at least 6 feet apart.
- The event has a virtual component for those who would prefer not to attend in-person.
