Salt Lake Chamber issues the following statement:

SALT LAKE CITY (Dec. 7, 2016) – Lane Beattie, president and CEO of the Salt Lake Chamber, issued the following statement regarding Gov. Herbert’s fiscal year 2018 budget proposal:

“Once again Utah is fortunate to have a robust economy producing strong revenue growth to meet critical needs as one of the fastest-growing states in the nation. We applaud the Governor’s budget for prioritizing our workforce needs, advancing water conservation and planning, and key investments in air quality. We also share the Governor’s concerns about a growing mismatch between Utah’s economy and tax base — and urge that modernizing our tax code be a major focus this coming session. We look forward to working with him, and the Legislature, on this pressing challenge and many others to ensure our state continues to prosper.”
