North Ogden, Utah (July 21, 2022) – Big-D Construction and partners including the City of North Ogden broke ground Thursday on what will house 30 city employees including 22 police officers, and eight civilian employees.
The project, awarded to Big-D Construction and JRCA Architects in 2021 is a $12.4 Million design-build project. At 25,000 square-feet, the facility is a single-story building located at 515 East 2600 North in North Ogden, and will be home to the North Ogden Justice Court, Police Department, Code Enforcement and Animal Control, according to city officials.
“It’s an honor to be a part of a project so significant to the people who selflessly serve our community,” said Mark Glauser, Big-D Construction Vice President. “We look forward to handing over a new Public Safety Building in 2023 that will better serve not only those who work in the building but visitors as well.”
Built in 1962, the current public safety building has undergone multiple additions over its 60-year life span. The new facility is a much-needed upgrade and will include a holding facility, for those accused of an offense.
“Big-D is known for their focus on quality and value, and we are confident at the completion of this project the citizens will have a building they can be proud of for many years,” said Neal Berube, Mayor of North Ogden.
Estimated completion on the North Ogden Public Safety building is slated for August 2023.
