1 in 3 adults have prediabetes, which puts them at greater risk for developing type 2 diabetes. Unfortunately, type 2 diabetes is costly for both the employees and employers. However, it can often be prevented! The National Diabetes Prevention Program is an evidence-based, CDC-recognized program that can reduce the risk of developing type 2 diabetes by 58%. It is currently being offered throughout Utah.
Many organizations has been working hard to improve employee health and well-being and this would support those efforts. This virtual summit will provide an opportunity to learn about the importance of type 2 diabetes prevention and engage with other employers interested in improving worksite wellness. HR, benefits, and/or wellness staff are encourage to attend.
