As a business leader, you know that immigrants and refugees make our communities stronger – socially, culturally and economically. Welcoming new arrivals to our communities is ingrained in our Utah identity. Our welcoming nature is a source of strength and a key part of our competitive advantage.
Early this year, our region came together to launch the Welcoming Salt Lake’s Task Force on New Americans. The group, co-chaired by Mayor Ben McAdams, Lane Beattie, and Dr. Dinesh Patel, includes more than 100 business, government and community leaders. The group spent the last 6 months developing a plan to make our region more attractive, welcoming and globally competitive for international talent and business. Now, we would like your input on the Draft Welcoming Salt Lake Plan.
