High Country Pizza & Deli is one of the many businesses that received a Mainstreet Preservation Grant.

Owners Russ and Tracey Newsome share their story:

“During the early stages of the pandemic shutdown we received a gracious grant from the Salt Lake Chamber. With the funds that we received, we were able to use them to retain our amazing staff and keep them employed during this critical time. As well as keeping our staff busy, we were also able to use these funds to do important maintenance to the restaurant and purchase an ice cream cabinet to help bring lost business through the doors. Without this grant, times would have been much more difficult during these trying times. Again from the owners of High Country Pizza and all of our staff, thank you Salt Lake Chamber for helping Utah’s rural businesses.”

The Mainstreet Preservation Grant, provided by the Salt Lake Chamber’s Utah Job Opportunities Foundation, is made possible thanks to a $500,000 donation from WCF Insurance. The grant funds are used to support rural and/or minority small businesses in Utah that need immediate assistance due to the COVID-19 and before federal stimulus funding is accessed. These grant funds are intended to help businesses in the short-term. To donate or learn more about the Mainstreet Preservation Grant, visit slchamber.com/mainstreet-preservation-grant.
