Lenny’s Richfield Family Pharmacy, opened in Richfield in 2012, when by Lenny Fitzgerald decided to open his own independent Pharmacy. The store is one of the many businesses that received a Mainstreet Preservation Grant. According to owner Lenny Fitzgerald, “The small business grant came to us just in the nick of time!   We had just cut employee hours and with that $5000 help, we changed our minds and kept the full time hours close to what they were before COVID-19.

We have been compounding hand sanitizer as fast as we can get the ingredients in stock.  Our goal was to have enough to dispense to all our local families to keep them safe!
We also bought supplies to have several masks made for the same reason.  Thank goodness we haven’t sold out yet.  Our community has been very blessed to not have a big break-out of the Virus.  If we can keep educating our patients to follow the guidelines of distancing, wearing masks and washing our hands… we might just win this battle!”

The Mainstreet Preservation Grant, provided by the Salt Lake Chamber’s Utah Job Opportunities Foundation, is made possible thanks to a $500,000 donation from WCF Insurance. The grant funds are used to support rural and/or minority small businesses in Utah that need immediate assistance due to the COVID-19 and before federal stimulus funding is accessed. These grant funds are intended to help businesses in the short-term. To donate or learn more about the Mainstreet Preservation Grant, visit slchamber.com/mainstreet-preservation-grant.
