Salt Lake City, UT – Today, the Salt Lake Chamber announced key staff changes aimed at continuing the organizations exemplary policy and communication work.
Elevating Chamber’s Public Policy Team
Building off of one of the most successful legislative session in organizational history, Abby Osborne has been promoted to Vice President of Government Relations and Michael Parker to Vice President of Public Policy.
Osborne has been serving as a Director of both Public Policy and Government Relations since 2015, leading efforts to build the Chamber’s influence throughout the state. As Vice President of Government Relations, Osborne will be responsible for coordinating the Chamber’s legislative efforts by working with business leaders, community partners and local, state and federal governments; identifying broad trends in the public policy arena that may impact business, and leading the organization’s political strategies including ballot initiatives and get out the vote efforts. Osborne will also continue in her role as Executive Director of the Utah Transportation Coalition.
Parker, who joined the Chamber in 2013, has been serving as the Chamber’s Director of Public Policy for the past two years leading efforts to improve the organization’s thought leadership through research and data-driven advocacy. As Vice President of Public Policy, Parker will be responsible for building on these efforts, as well as translating guidance from the Executive Board into an overarching policy strategy to address policy risks to Utah’s economy and business community; coordinating with the communications team on messaging, and continuing efforts to engage business leaders to promote informed decisions by Utah’s elected officials.

Building Brand with Marketing and Communication Team
Additionally, the Chamber announced the addition of Kimberly Flores, who joins the organization as Director of Public Relations and Communication, and the promotion of Marisa Bomis to Marketing and Communication Manager.

Flores comes with a wealth of experience within the media industry as a television news reporter, having spent the last five years at ABC4 Utah. As Director of Public Relations and Communication, Flores will be responsible for managing the Marketing and Communication department; creating awareness campaigns that engage and inform the public and business community; as well as developing strategic partnerships across the state that further the Chamber’s mission.
Bomis has served as Communication Coordinator for the Chamber since June 2015. As Marketing and Communication Manager, Bomis will be responsible for the development and implementation of marketing and communication strategies, overseeing publication development, and managing digital and multimedia content.
