Last week marked the culmination of two classes of Leadership Utah, the Salt Lake Chamber’s signature leadership program. Leadership Utah is an exclusive experience for mid- and upper-level management professionals to gain insight into the opportunities and challenges facing our state and at the same time become more engaged leaders.

In the course of a year, the class of public and private sector participants expanded their network, heard from key community leaders, and learned how they can best support our ever-changing society.  

To participate in Leadership Utah, applicants were accepted based on the following criteria:

  • Salt Lake Chamber organizational membership.
  • Work experience — must currently hold middle- or upper-level management positions.
  • Demonstrated community interest and engagement.
  • Their desired aspirations to serve on boards, hold leadership roles in the community, and acquire key positions within their organization.

Due to the pandemic, two classes were simultaneously held virtually and in person. Topics covered during the class include Health Care; Crime and Law Enforcement; Community Service; Education and Technology; Government; Arts, Sports and Entertainment;  Environment and Infrastructure; Economic Development, Military and Tourism; and Religion and Culture.
