Small business is the backbone of our community. The Salt Lake Chamber presents the Ignite and Inspire Small Business Summit. This half-day conference will provide the opportunity for small business owners, managers and entrepreneurs to come together to learn new tools, tactics and strategies, gain practical skills, and make invaluable connections to help support the growth and success of small business in Utah.

Bryan Trussel, co-founder and chairman, Glympse

Bryan Trussel is a c-level leader, founder and product visionary.   In 2008, Bryan co-founded Glympse, Inc. a mobile phone location services company and served as the CEO until September 2017, where he transitioned to its Executive Chairman of the Board.  Bryan sucessfully raised over $30M over 3 rounds, and ushered Glympse from a basement project to a VC funded, award winning product. Glympse is now branded and integrated into cars, phones, watches and IoT devices around the world with multiple Fortune 500 companies, including GM, Verizon, Samsung, BMW, Ford, Comcast, Mercedes, Pizza Hut, Gogo InFlight, and others.

Prior to founding Glympse, Bryan spent 16 years leading teams at Microsoft, working on a range of products from Casual Games to Windows to Interactive TV and embedded systems, including creating and launching several V1 products, such as Messenger Games, Windows CE and Xbox Live Arcade. Mr. Trussel is a well known keynote speaker and presenter at conferences around the world including CES, CTIA, Mobile World Congress, Mobile Marketing Association, Rutbers, and AdAge. He also is an active speaker and mentor with numerous startup events and organizations, including guest lecturing at many Universities on entrepreneurship and partnership strategies.

Terry H. Buckner is the president and CEO of The Buckner Company, and was born into the entrepreneurial family that carries the company’s name. Buckner earned his MBA from Utah State in 1979, his Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation in 1983 and was named Young Agent of the Year in 1989, a year after taking over the position as president of The Buckner Company. After buying out his father and uncle and assuming full command of the company from his partner in 1992, Buckner made several critical strategic moves that allowed the company to experience explosive growth between 2001 and 2011. He serves on the Board of Governors for The Salt Lake Chamber, the National Advisory Council for Weber State University and as a member of the Board of Directors for Envision Utah, a non-profit entity established to manage Utah’s growth.

Beth Colosimo is the Executive Director at Salt Lake Community College (SLCC) for all things small business. Her goal is to provide training and educational programs to any and all entrepreneurs, startups and small businesses, to help them overcome obstacles and help them grow.

Maxine Turner founded Cuisine Unlimited, Inc. in 1985 as a small deli and catering operation. During its first 10 years, the business grew quickly, and Turner’s husband, Marvin, left his corporate job to help with operations of the flourishing company. In 1999, they opened three
additional delis, and built their own catering kitchens in a 10,000 sq. ft. facility. They have since added 8,000 sq. ft. in office and warehouse space.
