SALT LAKE CITY (October 7, 2021) – Snell & Wilmer is pleased to announce that Salt Lake City partner Denise Dragoo has been elected to the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law’s Board of Trustees. Dragoo is replacing long-time Board Member, Snell & Wilmer attorney, David E. Leta.

The mission of the S.J. Quinney College of Law Alumni Board of Trustees is to foster a lifelong relationship between the college and its alumni that will provide meaningful contributions to the college and enrich the professional lives of its alumni.

Quinney College of Law,” said Dragoo.

At Snell & Wilmer, Dragoo focuses on natural resources, coal law, water law, environmental law, mining law, public land law, issues affecting the oil and gas industry, mine safety and health law. She also assists clients with compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act and related administrative appeals. She practices before the U.S. Department of Interior Board of Land Appeals, the Utah Board of Oil, Gas and Mining and state and federal environmental agencies.

Dragoo’s legal career has spanned over 40 years, during which time she has held leadership positions with the State Law Resources Board, Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation, Mountain States Legal Foundation, the Utah Mining Association and the Rocky Mountain Coal Mining Institute. She’s also very active in the community and in 2020 was elected President of The Alta Club, and has held board and leadership positions with The Utah Museum of Contemporary Art and the Junior League of Salt Lake City.
