This is Derek Miller Speaking on Business. Mountain America Credit Union was recently named the number one Credit Union in Utah by Forbes magazine based on overall customer overall satisfaction, trust, branch and digital services, and financial advice. These qualities have never been more important than now, as we work through the economic challenges brought by the coronavirus. Here’s Mountain America Credit Union President and CEO, Sterling Nielsen, to tell us what they’re doing.
STERLING NIELSEN
Mountain America strives to make a meaningful difference in our communities. During the global pandemic, we have stepped up operations to process more PPP business loans than any other credit union nationwide, helping small businesses keep their doors open and our residents employed. We also provided loan deferrals and skip-a-payment options to members with cash flow disruptions due to unexpected loss of employment over the last three months.
While our lobby doors were closed for a time, we still assisted members by appointment and through branch drive-throughs, service centers, and mobile technology—all while working within our communities delivering masks, meals, and raising money for food banks. Now that our lobbies are open again, we can meet our members’ financial needs with a more personal touch.
Mountain America firmly believes there is always a way forward and we’ll help our members and communities get there.
