This is Derek Miller, Speaking on Business. May is National Mental Health Awareness month. Businesses in the US lose between 80 and 100 billion dollars annually due to absenteeism and loss of productivity associated with mental health issue. That doesn’t even begin to touch on the human suffering associated with that loss. James Hadlock, co-founder of Blunovus, is here to tell us how his company is making a difference.

JAMES HADLOCK

At Blunovus, we know 1 out of 4 individuals are living with mental illness, and 80% of those struggling will never reach out for help due to stigma and job concern. We’re on a mission to change that.

We’re so much more than a traditional Employee Assistance Program. We’re a human connection company that puts people first, and we live this out by providing employees—and their loved ones—with 24/7 mental health support and the resources they need in order to heal. We also help organizations level-up their culture and support their people through manager certifications, executive coaching, and ongoing well-being analytics.

Our goal is to move upstream and help organizations proactively address mental health in the workplace well before a crisis ever occurs. We believe that people need people, and together, we can break down mental health stigma to create happier and healthier workforces.
