This is Derek Miller, Speaking on Business. FFKR Architects is a full-service architecture firm with offices in Utah and Arizona. Senior principal architect, Dave Giles, is here to tell us about one of the firm’s latest projects.
DAVE GILES
FFKR has a reputation for design excellence, environmental leadership, and budgetary responsibility. We maintain a staff of over 160 architects, designers, and support personnel who have the talent and passion to meet our clients’ most demanding challenges.
Today we’d like to focus on our recent work with The Salt Lake Chamber, beginning with the original program scope and share how we pivoted to address the impacts of COVID-19 on their workspace.
The team of FFKR Architects and the SL Chamber started the design process using the Chamber’s workplace flow and standards while visiting various office spaces as potential examples. Building on the information gathered, our team did multiple test fits to find the ideal space. This helped us gain a deeper understanding of the Chamber’s workspace and how they use it. When COVID-19 hit, the Salt Lake Chamber’s focus suddenly shifted. Together we were able to pivot, and we found the perfect tenant space that fit the newfound needs of the Chamber.

As businesses consider returning to work and finding new workspaces, FFKR recommends starting with an analysis and making a plan based on findings.
