This is Derek Miller Speaking on Business. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, the construction industry has continued its essential work, building Utah and contributing to the economy. Staker Parson Materials & Construction and its workforce of nearly 3,000 strives to be “The Preferred Source” of construction materials and services to infrastructure, commercial, and residential projects throughout Utah and Idaho. Its president, Scott Parson, is here to share more.
SCOTT PARSON
Our employees responded quickly to Utah Health Department and CDC COVID-19 guidelines. The majority of my colleagues work outside, independently or in small teams, facilitating social distancing. We also enabled our administrative teams to work remotely. Thanks to our employees’ commitment to hygiene, face coverings, and distancing guidelines, we’ve demonstrated our value to “put safety first” and have minimized COVID-19 spread in our workplaces.
Our commitment to safety extends to our customers and sub-contractors. We developed an in-house application to provide electronic delivery tickets, eliminating paper handling and boosting efficiency. I’m incredibly inspired by the resilience and optimism demonstrated our team. We’ve helped build Utah for nearly 70 years and are pleased to be part of the Salt Lake Chamber’s “Roadmap to Recovery Coalition.” Utah can continue to thrive as we all pull together to rebuild and strengthen our economy.
