SALT LAKE CITY – June 2, 2021 – Squire & Company, (www.squire.com), Utah’s trusted accounting partner for nearly 50 years, announced today that its HR director, Tawny Lott Rodriguez, has been honored with Utah Business Magazine’s 2021 HR Achievement Award.
This award honors individuals in Utah Human Resource departments who are changing the way HR hires, develops, nurtures, and retains the state’s best talent. This year, these incredible people were also tasked with helping an entire workplace transition seamlessly to remote work, while developing protocols to keep employees safe and healthy.
“I always knew I wanted to effect change,” said Squire’s HR Director, Tawny Lott Rodriguez. “Many employers relied on their HR departments and professionals during COVID, not knowing how to handle the swift changes taking place within the workforce.”
With the talent and ability to foresee challenges, Rodriguez is a true HR innovator. Even amid all the obstacles that the year 2020 presented, she was one of the first to step in and offer solutions. Rodriguez helped lead the COVID-19 response within the firm while continuing to meet the needs of employees impacted by the pandemic.

Since joining Squire in 2017, Rodriguez has implemented three key programs to attract and acquire top talent in the industry. Her efforts have resulted in the company growing from 90 employees to 165 and becoming one of the biggest accounting firms in Utah.
