SALT LAKE CITY — (November 10, 2022) The Gateway welcomes the return of annual holiday traditions with some new twists. The community is invited to celebrate the season with a series of free and festive community events, including Lights On!, Tree Lighting and Last Hurrah, the New Year’s celebration. New this year is the Art Stroll and Market that will be held in conjunction with the Salt Lake Gallery Stroll on November 18 and December 2.

Lights On!

A downtown winter wonderland featuring new displays and live music will usher in the holiday season at The Gateway when the vibrant, contemporary lights are officially flipped on during the annual Lights On! celebration on Saturday, November 19 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. The community is invited to celebrate and encouraged to bring nonperishable or cash donations to contribute the Utah Food Bank. All in-person donations will be entered to win a Gateway giveaway, featuring prizes valued at $400. There will be ample photo opportunities thanks to new art installations, including a Discoball Snowman, new oversized woodland creatures, and the iconic Restaurant Row dripping gumdrop installation.

Art Stroll and Market

The Gateway is partnering with Salt Lake Gallery Stroll with new “Light Up The Gateway”-themed windows featured throughout the property this winter. Shoppers and art lovers can enjoy the new addition of an Art Market along with the regular Art Stroll. The market will feature a selection of local Utah artists on Friday, November 18 and Friday, December 2 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Three permanent galleries will be showcased at the Urban Arts Gallery, Wasatch Theatre, and WOSB Gallery as well as a pop-up gallery at Kiln Co-working. The stroll includes live music as well.

Shop Small Saturday

The Gateway is home to several local small businesses, including women-owned boutique WOSB, Six Sailor Cider, Hexeh Apothecary, La Barba Coffee, Tresor Jewelers, Seabird Cocktail Lounge and more. During Shop Small Saturday on November 26th The Gateway will host a day filled with giveaways, gift with purchase, and music to enjoy while people choose to shop small with us.
