October is National CyberSecurity Awareness Month (NCSAM) and the Salt Lake Chamber is joining the Department of Homeland Security’s STOP. THINK. CONNECT.™ Campaign and its partners across the nation to highlight the importance of cybersecurity.
Cybersecurity has become as essential as locking your doors at the end of a work day.
In an effort to help businesses develop an action plan for cybersecurity, the Department of Commerce’s National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), drafted the NIST Cybersecurity Framework.
The framework’s cores are:
- Identify Risks
- Protect your businesses and sensitive information
- Detect problems by having systems in place
- Respond correctly by having a plan
- Recover by having plans if a cyber attack happens to you
