Electric heat pumps provide heating in the winter and air conditioning in the summer. Once considered viable in moderate climates only, emerging technologies – such as Variable Refrigerant Flow, ductless splits, and inverter driven compressors – have significantly improved how this equipment performs when the outside temperature drops.

Heat pumps have always been considered economical for cooling. And now, these advancements make them economical for heating during cold winters. With a lower thermal balance point they can easily meet a building’s heating requirements and provide a practical energy-saving solution to an expanded geographic area.

Because these systems produce savings, Rocky Mountain Power offers cash incentives to help lower your building’s heating and cooling costs.
