Recently, Utah was ranked as the #1 Best State for Job Growth by Forbes Magazine.

With an economy like ours, we are not too surprised. A study from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics found that Utah has led the nation on job growth for more than the first three quarters.

In addition to that Forbes states, “The Beehive state is in a class by itself, with job creation of more than 4%!” We couldn’t agree more, Utah is in a class of its own.

Projections show that the U.S. is on track to add 3 million jobs this year, indicating a 2.2% monthly average in national job growth, which is an increase of about 1.8% since last year.

As a state, we are proud to hold the ranking as the #1 Best State for Job Growth! As the Chamber, we will work to continually contribute to our country’s success by helping our state to continue moving onward and upward.

Improving energy efficiency is a great way to reduce operating expenses and enhance your profitability.

A walk-through energy audit of your business is a great way to begin.

An energy audit consists of an analysis of your utility bills and an inspection of your facility and mechanical systems.

Key things to consider include lighting systems and controls, the age and efficiency of heating and cooling systems, and the level of insulation.

The goal is to look at your facility as a whole and identify the best energy-saving opportunities.

Rocky Mountain Power’s wattsmart Business program can help you assess your energy efficiency opportunities to determine the most cost-effective upgrades for your business.

Wattsmart Business vendors can provide recommendations, bids and assist with paperwork. Search for a wattsmart Business Vendor at wattsmart.com.

Happy Thanksgiving!

A few things remind us of this special holiday: Turkey, football, the fall weather and most importantly, our families. Here at the Chamber, we hope that your day is filled with whatever matters most to you.

As a business association, we’d specifically like to recognize the wonderful people in this community. Without each of you, Utah would not achieve the many successes that our state enjoys.

As we reminisce over the past year, we would specifically like to give thanks for our Chamber members. Without them, we certainly would not be able to stand up for the broad-based needs of the business community.

We look forward to finding more innovative and effective ways to serve each of our members. If you’re not a Chamber member, now is a great time to consider looking at ways we can help you.

In the meantime, may the bounty of this season fill your hearts and home.

Be safe and have a Happy Thanksgiving!
