Winter is almost here, and as a business owner, you need to be ready to provide the best overall experience by focusing on customer comfort.
Consider energy efficiency in providing customer comfort by doing the following:
- First, since customers may be wearing coats, set your thermostat to 68 degrees or lower so they don’t get too hot.
- Second, keep the air moving by making sure vents are uncovered and open.
- Third, to show off merchandise in the best light, install newer, energy-efficient light bulbs. They will help you save money and could improve your sales.
Rocky Mountain Power’s wattsmart Business program can help you identify energy-saving opportunities and offer incentives for improvements.

I have some good news for women and entrepreneurs alike. Nerd Wallet has ranked Salt Lake City as one of the top 25 metro cities for female entrepreneurs!
Over the past few years female entrepreneurship has been on an upward climb. In fact, The U.S. Small Business Administration says that during that time, U.S. business ownership rose 27.5% for women.
To determine the list, Nerd Wallet looked at indicators of the area’s business climate, the percentage of women-owned businesses and the percentage of women-owned businesses with employees.
Nerd Wallet also considered unemployment rate, median annual income for women and compared to men, as well as the number of SBA-guaranteed loans.
We are proud to be a top metro city for female entrepreneurs. This ranking is in part due to the fabulous work done by the Women’s Business Center.
