The fall has arrived which means school is back in full-swing.
The recent survey by Envision Utah showed that nearly 80 percent of Utahns favored an education scenario that would elevate Utah to rank in the Top Ten states for education.
Becoming a top 10 state requires that we invest in education. In fact, the same survey said Utahns agreed that with increased funding, spent wisely, would more than pay for itself in increased economic strength.
The Salt Lake Chamber could not agree more, which is why we support and operate Prosperity 2020, a five-year statewide plan for major gains in education.
Prosperity 2020 is the largest business-led movement ever assembled in Utah to advance education investment and innovation. The plan of investment covers a multitude of areas, such as educational tools, assessment technologies, teacher compensation and professional development, affordable tuition for higher education and so much more.
To succeed, we need all levels of state leadership to move ahead on this plan. To find out more information go to: slchamber.com/prosperity2020.

According to a new research report by CBRE the Salt Lake Market ranks 10th in terms of tech job growth. We really are living up to our new nickname “Silicon Slopes.”
The report analyzes the top 30 tech cities across the U.S and Canada, and highlights Salt Lake City as a growth leader with expanding market reach.
In terms of commercial real estate, this means we are a market in which vacancy is declining, rents are rising at a faster-than-average pace and new supply additions are underway or on the horizon.
“The high-tech industry is directly supported by consumer demand and a growing number of high-tech integrated businesses, which should keep the industry strong in the years ahead and further support for office markets in the Tech-Thirty,” said Colin YA-SUE-CO-CHI, director of research and analysis for CBRE.
As our community continues to grow we are excited for the new businesses that will join us and help our city continue to be a top tech market in the future.
