As a leader of the business community we are very excited by the launch of the David Eccles School of Business, the Kem C. Gardner Policy Institute. The new institute will lead to more informed decision-making by developing and sharing economic, demographic and public policy research.

“Utah has a proud history of prudent planning and thoughtful decision-making. The Kem C. Gardner Policy Institute will aid in the important choices Utahns will have to make by providing accurate and trusted research to the people of this great state,” says University of Utah president David Pershing.

When business, government and community leaders come together for the betterment of Utah, our community, economy and businesses thrive from the development of public policies. The new initiative will help develop strategies for issues facing our state and invest in the future of our state. We couldn’t be happier about the new addition to our local community.

Did you know the first state fair was held in October 1856? Back then the fair was a little different but now it’s the place to go! Not only can you ride the tilt-a-whirl, eat cotton candy and go to the “Day of Wreckoning” Demolition Derby all in one place but it a good family affair where I can take my grandkids.

This weekend is the last few days of the Utah State Fair, and you won’t want to miss it! Be sure to buy your tickets now before they sell out and discover all of the family fun at the Utah State Fair! As it will be a day to remember for years to come.

Plus, Saturday is 4-H Day: Farm Bureau Day. That means baby animals, demos and more! But be sure to come back on Sunday for the United Truck and Tractor Pull.

The Utah State Fair blends the best of Utah tradition and heritage with new technology and modern ideals! And if you don’t come this weekend, you will have to wait another whole year to go to a fair like this one. For more information visit: utahstatefair.com
