Salt Lake City, UT–February 20, 2020–The Utah Chapter of CCIM today announced that Vasilios Priskos has been named the 2020 Excellence Awards Hall of Fame recipient. Held annually, the Excellence Awards honors professionals within Utah’s commercial real estate industry who exemplify the highest degree of business excellence. The event recognizes individuals spanning more than 15 specialties within the industry, the pinnacle award being the Hall of Fame, which highlights an institution or individual that has had a dramatic and valuable impact on the Utah commercial real estate market. The full list of award recipients will be announced at an event held at the Grand America Hotel on Saturday, March 7, 2020. This year’s event theme is “Transformation.”

This year’s Hall of Fame recipient, Vasilios Priskos, posthumous, is the founder of InterNet Properties, Inc. and a real estate icon in downtown Salt Lake City. Before passing away in October of 2017, Vasilios’ professional passion was real estate and the historical preservation and development of the downtown area. Upon earning a finance degree from the University of Utah, Vasilios purchased a building on 400 South in the downtown Central Business District, which is where his company is located today. He followed that up with many additional investments. Aside from commercial investments, Vasilios gave back to the community in many ways. He served on multiple civic and public boards, including positions with the Salt Lake City Police Foundation, the Children’s Museum, the Salt Lake City Chamber of Commerce, the Redevelopment Agency of Salt Lake City, the Utah Heritage Foundation, the Utah Film Center, the 2002 Olympics Committee, the Westminster College Foundation, and the Board of Realtors Grievance Committee. In January of this year, and 8-foot bronze statue of Priskos was dedicated near the Eccles Theater to honor his legacy.

“The name Vasilios Priskos is synonymous with downtown Salt Lake City, and his investment in Main Street is unparalleled,” noted Ronda Landa, CCIM Utah Excellence Awards chair. “Vasilios constantly focused on building the local community and connecting local leaders and resources in any way he could to help transform the local landscape. He was a highly active member of the community and was so influential that the Downtown Alliance named him as one of the ‘Top 25 People who Helped Shape Downtown.’ He truly left a legacy of cooperation and community, and we look forward to honoring him at this year’s awards event.”
