SALT LAKE CITY (June 13, 2017) – The Salt Lake Chamber has named Wilford Clyde, Chairman and CEO of Clyde Companies, as the new Chairman of its Board of Governors. Clyde has served as the board’s vice chair alongside current chair, Keith McMullin, president and CEO of Deseret Management, Inc.

“The Salt Lake Chamber is very fortunate to have Wilford, with his wealth of knowledge and years of business experience, stepping into the role of Chairman of the Board,” said Lane Beattie, president and CEO of the Salt Lake Chamber. “Wilford’s dedication to his profession, community and family has been reflected in his dedication to the Salt Lake Chamber. We have great confidence in the kind of leadership Wilford will provide in further elevating the goals of the Chamber.”

A successful businessman, Clyde began his career in the construction business, working for Geneva Rock. He became president of that organization before moving to lead its parent company, Clyde Companies, Inc., which also oversees Sunroc Building Materials, Sunroc Corporation, Beehive Insurance and W.W. Clyde & Co.

“I’ve been a part of the Salt Lake Chamber for a long time. This organization’s work on critical business-related policy issues is a major reason that companies like Forbes and CNBC call our state the best for business,” said Clyde. “Through my capacity with the Board of Governors, I plan to encourage and continue this growth. The Chamber helps the state to succeed, enables businesses to achieve success, and most importantly, puts people first.”

Clyde will officially take over as Chairman of the Board on July 1st, 2017.
