Three-Day Arts Celebration July 15–17 in Canyons Village and Park City
SALT LAKE CITY — One of America’s top ten ballet companies announces its inaugural Ballet West Summit Festival: Where Art Meets Elevation, a three-day cultural celebration taking place July 15–17, 2026 in Park City, Utah.
The festival brings together a notable partnership with Park City Film and Ballerina Farm with live performances, cinematic storytelling, and an exclusive culinary experience with a special summer appearance from several Ballet West Principal Artists.
“Park City has long been a gathering place for those who believe in the power of art and shared experience,” said Ballet West Artistic Director Adam Sklute. “This festival is our way of meeting that community where it lives; outdoors, in the mountains, in the summer, with the full artistry our company has to offer.”
Ballet West at the Summit
Ballet West Summit Festival includes a live performance on July 17 at the Amphitheater at Canyons Village at Park City Mountain. Ballet West at the Summit will include Principal Artists Katlyn Addison, Adrian Fry, Jenna Rae Herrera, and David Huffmire in performances of Quattro a Verdi by Michael Smuin, L’air d’Esprit by Gerard Arpino, and After the Rain Pas de Deux by Christopher Wheeldon.
Dancers from the Frederick Quinney Lawson Ballet West Academy will also be presented in partnership with artÉmotion, dancing in world premiere works by internationally renowned choreographers Phil Chan, Ingrid Silva, Garrett Smith, and Rex Tilton.
Chan is a co-founder of Final Bow for Yellowface and whose choreography is part of Ballet West’s active repertory. Silva is a former principal dancer with the Dance Theatre of Harlem, co-founder of Blacks in Ballet, and the first Afro-Brazilian dancer to appear on the cover of Pointe Magazine. Smith, a Utah native, has staged choreography for the Bolshoi Ballet, the Mariinsky Ballet, and New York City Ballet. Tilton is the Artistic Director of artÉmotion and former Principal Dancer with Ballet West.
From Root to Relevé
On July 15, leading up to the culminating performance, is From Root to Relevé, a Farm to Table Dinner Experience with Ballet West and Ballerina Farm, founded by former dancer Hannah Neeleman.
Set against the beauty of the summer fields and the Kamas mountain valley, the evening will feature a thoughtfully prepared, open-fire meal from guest chefs Micheál “Tiffin” Griffin and Avery Jensen highlighting seasonal produce, farm-raised meats, and fresh cheeses from their dairy and creamery. The evening will also feature a preview performance of works from the Ballet West at the Summit.
Raising Voices En Pointe
On July 16, in partnership with Park City Film, the festival presents Raising Voices En Pointe, a free public screening of two documentaries at the Jim Santy Auditorium in Park City. About Face: Disrupting Ballet follows Chan and Georgina Pazcoguin, a former New York City Ballet soloist and recent Ballet West guest artist, as they challenge the ballet world to confront and retire racial stereotypes embedded in beloved classical works.
Ten Times Better tells the largely unknown story of George Lee, a Chinese American dancer who performed for George Balanchine at New York City Ballet before spending decades as a blackjack dealer in Las Vegas.
Both Chan and Ballet West Artistic Director Adam Sklute will participate in a post-screening conversation. The screening is free and open to the public.
