The Salt Lake Chamber’s vision is to serve as Utah’s premier business leader by supporting statewide prosperity. To achieve this, the Chamber acts as a proactive force that propels business-led public policy initiatives into the heart of Utah’s decision-making processes. The Chamber’s commitment to fostering positive change in the state extends across a broad spectrum of critical issues, spanning housing affordability, air quality, water conservation and more.

Through the Chamber’s many initiatives, members are provided with countless opportunities to engage in meaningful and impactful ways.

A Business Vision for Utah’s Energy Future

The Salt Lake Chamber, with assistance from the Kem C. Gardner Policy Institute and R&R Partners, prepared the Business Vision for Utah’s Energy Future. Utah’s business community envisions an energy future that places Utah at the center of the nation’s energy transition by harmonizing environmental and economic progress to ensure a balanced low-carbon energy future that remains affordable, reliable, and sustainable.

Clear the Air Challenge

The Clear the Air Challenge was a month-long competition that gave Utahns the chance to reduce their vehicle emissions by choosing alternative methods of transportation using TravelWise strategies. By driving less and driving smarter, Utahns ultimately can help improve air quality, reduce traffic congestion and conserve energy in the state.

Closing the Gender Wage Gap

The Salt Lake Chamber, in partnership with the Women’s Leadership Institute released the “Best Practices Guide for Closing the Gender Wage Gap.” This guidebook is full of policies, programs and actions companies can implement to help close the gender wage gap.

Fair Chance Hiring Guide

The Salt Lake Chamber and Utah Community Builders have created the “Fair Chance Hiring Guide,” a new resource for the business community to learn about hiring individuals previously involved with the justice system and make a positive impact on the lives of those seeking a second chance.

The Utah Compact on Immigration

The Utah Compact was developed over several months by groups and individuals who were concerned about the tone of Utah’s immigration discussion. The Compact is based on Utah values and we urge our leaders to use these guiding principles as they address the complex challenges associated with a broken national immigration system.

The Utah Compact on Racial Equity, Diversity and Inclusion

The Utah Compact on Racial Equity, Diversity and Inclusion is founded on the principles that all people are created equal and that all Utahns must have a truly equal opportunity to prosper. It explicitly acknowledges racism as a system of ideas, beliefs, practices, structures, and policies that give some people greater opportunity than others. Signatories of the compact pledge to work toward priorities and laws that create equal opportunity and access, and to foster communities of respect.
