This is Derek Miller, Speaking on Business. Utah’s growth depends on strong infrastructure, and Comcast is investing in that future. Over three years, Comcast has invested more than 1 billion dollars across Utah to expand broadband access and support communities. Utah Regional Senior Vice President, Jennifer Somers, joins us with more.
Jennifer Somers:
At Comcast, we believe connectivity is the economic infrastructure that powers opportunity. In Utah, we’ve invested more than 500 million dollars in network infrastructure, helping build and enhance a network that reaches more than 1.1 million homes and businesses statewide.
Those investments matter because fast, reliable connectivity helps communities attract jobs, enables businesses to grow and gives residents access to the tools they need to succeed. And when it comes to supporting businesses, Comcast powers more than 2 million small businesses nationwide, more than any other provider, giving entrepreneurs and employers the connectivity they need to compete and grow.
We’re also focused on ensuring more Utahns can benefit from the digital economy. Through Internet Essentials, Comcast has connected more than 241,000 low-income Utah residents to affordable internet access over the past decade. We’re proud to partner with communities across Utah to build the connectivity, opportunity and economic growth that will power the state’s future.
