This is Derek Miller Speaking on Business. With five locations throughout the Salt Lake area, Saffron Valley Restaurants serve authentic Indian food in a warm, friendly ambience. Owner of Saffron Valley, Lavanya Mahate, is here to share what her restaurants provide to Utahns.
LAVANYA MAHATE
This year marks our 10th year in business, and to be recognized as the Small Business of the year by the Salt Lake Chamber is incredibly rewarding and very humbling.
Saffron Valley offers dine in, delivery, take out and catering services. Corporate catering, which is one of our main offerings, got cut down completely due to the pandemic. We stayed busy with take-out and delivery, as the majority of the people worked from home. We also offered virtual cooking classes and opened our dining rooms for community projects where we packaged meals and essential packages for the underserved families in Utah. It was a tough year, but we got through together.
This year, catering and dine-in are back. Restaurants are moving toward newer concepts and more efficient ways of operating. We continue to stay nimble in everything, from our staffing to our supply chain. Focusing on cleanliness and delivering a reliable, trustworthy experience will keep our customers coming back long after the pandemic is over.
