This is Derek Miller, Speaking on Business. Teaching It Right helps children build the skills they need to connect with others, communicate and build friendships. Through research-backed programs and practical tools, they give parents and educators ways to help children feel confident, supported and included. Founder and CEO, Andrea Johnson, joins us with more.
Andrea Johnson:
I believe every child can learn to connect with others, that is why I founded the We Are Friends program. It looks simple from the outside. A lesson and a conversation. Underneath, it’s a structured, research-backed approach to how children actually learn to connect.
We built it around children on the autism spectrum, because that’s where we saw the real science-to-practice gap. Turns out those same methods help children who need support believing in themselves, communicating with others, managing emotions and building friendships.
The program uses personalized videos, music and interactive practice, giving children simple, consistent opportunities to build social skills each day. Parents use it at home. Teachers use it in class. And because it’s grounded in research, we see improved connections.
I’ve seen it change kids. That’s why I’m doing this. Every kid deserves to belong. That’s Teaching It Right.
Derek Miller:
By helping children build confidence, meaningful relationships and social skills, Teaching It Right is creating more opportunities for kids to feel understood, supported and know they belong. Learn more at TeachingItRight.com. I’m Derek Miller, with the Salt Lake Chamber, Speaking on Business.
