This is Derek Miller, Speaking on Business. Serving more than 94 hundred people each year, Volunteers of America – Utah provides community-supported pathways that help individuals facing vulnerability improve their lives and build greater self-reliance. Program Manager, Marcelo Garcia, joins us with more.
Marcelo Garcia:
For 40 years, Volunteers of America – Utah has worked alongside individuals and families facing some of life’s hardest challenges, including homelessness, mental health struggles and addiction. Today, Volunteers of America – Utah serves thousands of people each year through programs focused on healing, stability and long-term support.
We know recovery looks different for everyone, which is why we support the whole person. I manage THRIVE, our supported employment program, where we help individuals discover meaningful work and reconnect with purpose, confidence and community. Through job support, vocational guidance, and partnerships with local employers, we help people move forward to greater independence and stability.
This September, we’d like to invite employers and community partners to join us for our Hiring and Resource Fair to better help connect individuals with meaningful employment and valuable community resources.

Their work helps people find stability, rebuild confidence and move forward with hope and purpose. I’m Derek Miller, with the Salt Lake Chamber, Speaking on Business.
