At the 2025 Annual Meeting, the Salt Lake Chamber will honor individuals and organizations whose dedication has strengthened both the Chamber’s mission and the community. This year, we’re proud to recognize Brandon Hansen, General Manager of Hyatt Place Salt Lake City Downtown/The Gateway, as a Chamber Champion – an award reserved for exceptional Chamber volunteers who go above and beyond in service.
Hansen began working in hospitality at just 12 years old in his family’s hotel business, Pearson Enterprises. He went on to hold leadership roles at Morris Air, The Mark Travel Corporation, Solitude Mountain Resort and The Falls Event Center. Since 2018, he has served as General Manager of Hyatt Place Salt Lake City/Downtown, bringing with him decades of experience and a deep commitment to service.
Here’s what Hansen had to say when we asked about his involvement with the Chamber.
What inspires you to dedicate your time and energy to volunteering and supporting the Chamber’s mission?
Inspired by my grandfather and father, I’ve always believed in giving back to the community. Volunteering with the Chamber is one of the many ways I stay involved, and it’s something I truly enjoy.
Is there a particular Chamber project, event or initiative that you are especially proud of having worked on?
In addition to serving as chair of the President’s Ambassadors, I’m especially proud of my role in suicide prevention in the workplace through the Resilience in Hospitality training program. Contributing to this initiative has been a deeply meaningful experience, as mental health challenges have impacted so many in our industry. The Salt Lake Chamber is making a real difference in the conversation around mental health, and I’m grateful to have played a small part in that progress.
What advice would you offer to those looking to become more involved and support their community through the Chamber?
As my father often said, “You reap what you sow.” I encourage others to find a way to give back — it always brings personal and professional rewards.
