Public Policy Committees

The Salt Lake Chamber’s Public Policy Committees are specialized groups dedicated to examining and shaping public policy issues in various sectors. These committees provide informed recommendations and insights to influence legislative decisions and foster a pro-business climate in Utah.

Salt Lake Chamber members are encouraged to:

  • Review the committees offered and select the one that aligns with their expertise, interests or policy area they want to influence. These committees cover a wide range of sectors and issues, from health care and transportation to economic development and education.
  • Once a committee is identified, members can actively participate in its meetings, discussions and initiatives. Members are encouraged to contribute insights, expertise and perspectives to help shape the Salt Lake Chamber’s policy recommendations and advocacy efforts. They then engage in the committee’s activities, attend meetings and collaborate with fellow members to have a meaningful impact on the legislative process and support the pro-business agenda.

Committee Membership

Membership on a committee of the Salt Lake Chamber shall be limited to individuals whose employers are members of the Salt Lake Chamber.

The Salt Lake Chamber intends that committee memberships be reasonably balanced between representatives of top management and specialists in the committee’s particular field of responsibility.

Each of the Salt Lake Chamber’s public policy committees is supported by a dedicated core team of policy advisors. These individuals convene before, during and after the legislative session to provide strategic input and guidance on proposed bills and policies, ensuring they align with the needs and interests of Salt Lake Chamber members. Through their expertise and collaborative efforts, these advisors help shape effective and impactful policy decisions.

Throughout the year, committees meet regularly to participate in informational sessions and provide strategic input on policy matters, ensuring that the interests of Salt Lake Chamber members are effectively represented and advanced.
