According to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Small Business Data Center, small businesses make up 99.9% of all U.S. businesses, employing nearly 46% of Americans. Utah continues to stand out for its pro-business climate, supported by strong initiatives and resources that help entrepreneurs start and grow. Each month, the Salt Lake Chamber will highlight a small business in Utah to showcase its economic impact and encourage community support.
Museum exhibits that spark curiosity and invite hands-on discovery don’t happen by accident. From the Butterfly Biosphere at Thanksgiving Point to children’s museums worldwide, many begin at Process Curiosity.
Founded by Blake Wigdahl, Process Curiosity began with a simple but ambitious idea: bring imagination to life and create experiences that make a meaningful impact. With more than 30 years of experience working inside museums and alongside nonprofits, Wigdahl set out to build a collaborative studio where creativity and technical expertise meet.
Process Curiosity brings together artists, designers, engineers, fabricators, sculptors and planners to create immersive, hands-on experiences for museums and cultural institutions around the globe. Working closely with a network of consultants, the team has helped develop exhibits and environments throughout North America.
“We’re involved from start to finish,” Wigdahl said. “From research and concept development to prototyping, 3D modeling and final design. Our team then takes those ideas and turns them into buildable plans that are fabricated and installed. At our core, our role is to create the experience.”
Wigdahl’s passion comes from years spent inside cultural institutions. “I wanted to help people have a larger impact,” he said. “How do I come alongside others and help bring their ideas to life?”
That collaborative approach guides every project. Process Curiosity spends time listening to clients and understanding the communities each exhibit is built for. “We’re not just designing for institutions,” Wigdahl explained. “We’re designing for families, kids and the people who will experience it. Our goal is shared, transformative learning.”
As a member of the Salt Lake Chamber, Process Curiosity continues to build relationships that support both its growth and the broader business community. “We want to help organizations think bigger and bring their visions to life,” Wigdahl said.
