Chartway’s New Cedar City Branch Grand Opening Celebrates Community

Event featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony, Make-A-Wish Utah Promise Hero Wish Proclamation,

and $5K donation to Chartway Promise Foundation

Cedar City, Utah (November 5, 2025) – Chartway Credit Union celebrated the grand opening of its newly relocated Cedar City branch, welcoming members, community leaders, and local dignitaries for a morning of connection, celebration, and purpose. This expansion answers the call of our loyal Cedar City members. The event featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony, a Promise Hero Wish Proclamation for four-year-old Archer Cooke in partnership with Make-A-Wish Utah, and a $5,000 check presentation to the Chartway Promise Foundation from NewGround, the design-build contractor for the new branch.

The new location at 1096 South Main Street is part of Chartway’s ongoing multi-million-dollar branch expansion and renovation initiative across Utah, Virginia, and Texas. Designed to provide a modern, member-focused experience, the Cedar City branch offers state-of-the-art technology, improved accessibility, and inviting spaces that reflect Chartway’s people-first commitment.

“Opening our new Cedar City branch reflects Chartway’s continued investment in growth, innovation, and the communities we’re privileged to serve,” said Brian Schools, president & CEO of Chartway Credit Union. “We’re creating welcoming spaces that make it easier for members to access personalized financial solutions and connect with our team. This opening and today’s celebration represent our promise to help individuals and families thrive.”

Celebrating Community and the Power of a Wish

Before the ribbon cutting, Chartway Promise Foundation hosted a Wish Proclamation Ceremony for Archer, a local child living with a metabolic disorder. Surrounded by his parents, Tricia White and Ashley Cooke, his siblings, and grandparents, Archer learned that his wish to have a pop-up camping trailer will soon come true.

“Because his condition requires a strict ketogenic diet and limits long-distance travel, the camping trailer will give us the freedom to adventure together safely and comfortably,” said White, Archer’s mom. “We’re really looking forward to making a lot of memories out on the road.”

“Chartway Promise Foundation has been proudly supporting Make-A-Wish Utah since 2010, helping grant nearly 500 wishes for incredible Utah children,” said Christine Wilson, president of the Chartway Promise Foundation. “As we celebrate the 20th anniversary of the foundation, we’re deeply grateful for our partners, our members, and our team members who make it possible to bring joy, hope, and smiles to Promise Heroes like Archer.”

Archers Wish Proclamation was read aloud by Rebecca Riordan, Chartway’s chief people & culture officer and Chartway Promise Foundation board director. The ceremony included a special proclamation scroll and a wish basket of personalized gifts for Archer, which was curated by Chartway team members.

A Shared Commitment to Cedar City

Following the Proclamation, attendees gathered outside for the official ribbon-cutting ceremony led by Chartway executives, Cedar City dignitaries and Chamber of Commerce representatives.

“We’re proud to count Chartway Credit Union among our valued Chamber members, and we’re thrilled to celebrate the opening of their beautiful new building,” said Tessa Douglas president & CEO of the Cedar City Chamber. “This project represents an investment not only in their members and organization, but in our community as a whole. With this new location, Chartway will be able to serve their members even better and further enhance the experience of those they work with. We’re excited to see them continue to grow and thrive in their new space.”

During the ceremony, NewGround, Chartway’s design-build contractor, presented a $5,000 donation to the Chartway Promise Foundation in honor of its milestone anniversary. The contribution will help the Foundation continue granting life-changing wishes and experiences to medically fragile children and their families in the communities we serve.

Looking Ahead

The Cedar City branch joins Chartway’s growing network of modernized locations across Utah, including recent renovations at our Red Cliffs Branch in Washington and Sunset Branch in St. George, and new construction underway for a new branch in Herriman, outside of Salt Lake City targeted to open in 2026. Each project supports the credit union’s strategic goals to create more member-centric spaces and integrate advanced technology.
