Discovery Gateway Children’s Museum Partners With Clark Planetarium For 2025 Summer Camps

Discovery Gateway Children’s Museum is thrilled to announce its 2025 Summer Camps, offering for the first time ever camp options in partnership with the Clark Planetarium. This year’s lineup of camps offers a wide variety of dynamic hands-on, STEAM-focused programs for children ages 5 to 10 years old, with the collaborative additions of Prehistoric Explorers, Dinosaur Detectives, Cosmic Contraptions, and Galactic Gearheads. These camps are designed to ignite curiosity, foster creativity, and provide educational fun throughout the summer months.

Discovery Gateway Children’s Museum has been hosting Summer Camps for over 10 years. This year camp options include full-day STEAM camps for children ages 8 to 10, Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM. for $230 (members) and $250 (public), as well as Junior summer camps for ages 5 to 7 run Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, costing $130 (members) and $150 (public). These camps provide engaging activities and hands-on learning to keep kids excited all summer.

“Summer camps are an incredible way to help keep kids engaged in learning when they are out of school. Additionally, they are a great way to help working parents keep kids busy in productive ways during summer months. The hands-on learning that happens in camps sparks curiosity, builds confidence, and helps lay the foundation for continued lifelong learning.” says Kaya Lutterman, Director of Education, “And partnering with the Clark Planetarium this year opens up new doors for us to expand the joy of learning and discovery kids experience in camps in ways we couldn’t do on our own.”

Some of the camp themes for this summer include Art Adventure, immersing kids in S.T.E.A.M with 2D and 3D art projects, and Artful Antics, which promotes creative expression through dance, performance, and visual arts. The Scientific Sorcery camp introduces scientific principles of illusions, while Silly Science Magic explores tricks like gravity-defying water and potions. Cosmic Contraptions, in collaboration with the Clark Planetarium, focuses on gears, levers, and pulleys through rocket and train-inspired activities. Prehistoric Explorers takes kids through the dinosaur age with interactive exhibits and activities.

Spots for these popular camps are filling up quickly, so families are encouraged to register soon to secure a spot. Camps run June through August, with the first camps starting June 9th. Registration for the summer camps is now open, and interested families can register through the museum’s website under the “Summer Camps” tab. A limited number of scholarships are available for families in need, and who qualify, through the Summer Camp Scholarship Program.
