Jess Anderson, retired head of Utah Department of Public Safety, brings 25 plus years of experience to Geneva Rock.
After more than 25 years in public service, Jess Anderson, former commissioner of the Utah Department of Public Safety, will use his expertise as the new Director of Safety at Geneva Rock, a subsidiary of Clyde Companies.
“Jess brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to Geneva Rock,” said Ryan Dalling, President of Geneva Rock. “Safety has been – and always will be – our top priority, not just for our team members, but also for the communities we build in. Jess will be a tremendous asset to our team as we continue to build a better community throughout Utah.”
Anderson was appointed by Governor Gary Herbert to be Utah’s Commissioner of Public Safety, where he oversaw all the workings of the department and its 1,500 employees. During his time as commissioner, Anderson also served as the Governor’s Homeland Security Advisor. While with the Utah Highway Patrol, he was promoted through several ranks and served in key administrative positions. Anderson has a master’s degree in criminal justice from Weber State University. He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy, FBI Command College, Northwestern Police Staff and Command, and IACP Leadership in Police Organizations. He served on the Executive Board of the National Governor’s Security Association from 2009-2016, including a term as President.
