Thousands of employees across the Larry H. Miller Company’s platforms and businesses participated in the 15th annual Larry H. Miller Week of Service from April 21-25. Service projects ranged from making pillows for children in foster care and park beautification efforts.

On April 23, members of the Miller family, employees from the Larry H. & Gail Miller Family Foundation, the Larry H. Miller Company, Miller Sports + Entertainment, and Real Salt Lake gathered at the Jordan River (near the Power District) to clean up debris, remove trash and pull invasive weeds. My Hometown Salt Lake City, a local non-profit organization, aided in organizing the project.

After Larry H. Miller’s passing in 2009, the Miller family established a tradition to recognize his legacy. Each year on his birthday, the Larry H. Miller Company employees gathered for a day of service. The tradition then expanded to a week of service.

“When my father founded the Larry H. Miller Company, he and my mom did so with the belief that businesses should serve the communities where they reside,” said Steve Miller, Board Chairman at the Larry H. Miller Company. “Every year, we honor my father’s legacy and his birthday by serving the communities he knew and loved.”

“I love our company’s annual Week of Service,” said Steve Starks, CEO of the Larry H. Miller Company. “Our thousands of employees who participate each year embody our mission to enrich lives and are grateful to serve in the community. There’s something special about getting out of the office and working alongside teammates, whether it’s cleaning the Jordan River, packing hygiene kits, or volunteering at a local food bank.”

In other states, employees partnered with local food banks, homeless shelters, schools, and more for various service projects. Across the country, participants sported matching Larry H. Miller Week of Service t-shirts.

Other projects in Utah included preparing ready-made meals for families impacted by breast cancer, assembling hygiene kits for those experiencing homelessness and making pillows for children in foster care.

Following the announcement of the Miller family’s acquisition of the controlling interest in RSL Football Holdings, employees from Real Salt Lake and the Utah Royals also participated in various service activities throughout the week, including Jordan River clean-up, local soccer field restoration and volunteering with the Road Home.
