Every year, an estimated 400,000 new cases of cancer affect children under the age of 20 worldwide. It’s a staggering statistic — and one that continues to inspire community efforts across the country to raise awareness and support for families facing this heartbreaking reality.
Thankfully, Northwestern Mutual Utah is stepping up to make a difference. On August 15th, they’ll host the 2025 Lemon Bash Fundraiser at the Ken Garff Scholarship Club at Rice-Eccles Stadium. This annual event brings together people from all over the community for an evening filled with fun and purpose.
Guests can expect food, drinks, a lively casino section, a kid’s area complete with a bounce house and face painting, a DJ and dancing, a photo booth and heartfelt remarks from special guest speakers. It’s the kind of event where everyone — families, friends, businesses and individuals — can come together to support a meaningful cause while enjoying a night out.
All proceeds from Lemon Bash support Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to finding cures for all childhood cancers. To date, the foundation has raised more than $200 million and helped fund over 1,000 research projects. Their efforts don’t stop at research, they also provide critical support and resources to childhood cancer heroes and their families.
For over 150 years, Northwestern Mutual Utah has been helping families and businesses in the area secure their financial futures. With a dedicated team of more than 100 professionals, they offer services such as retirement planning, risk management and estate planning. This year, they have set an ambitious goal to raise $100,000 through the Lemon Bash.
