The start of a new year is always a time for reflection and renewal. It’s a chance to celebrate the past year’s successes, learn from challenges, and set our sights on what’s next. For Utah’s business community, the upcoming legislative session represents an important opportunity to help shape the policies that will define our state’s future.
As business leaders, we know how quickly the decisions made at the Capitol can impact our organizations, employees and communities. That’s why it’s crucial for us to come together, speak up and engage in the legislative process. Your voice matters — and this year, we’re encouraging every Salt Lake Chamber member to get involved.
To begin, take some time to reflect on what matters most to your business. Consider the policies or challenges that have the most significant impact on your operations. Whether it’s workforce development, tax policy, regulation, infrastructure or sustainability initiatives, identifying your priorities is the first step toward meaningful engagement.
One of the best ways to get involved is by attending the 2025 Utah Economic Outlook and Public Policy Summit, hosted by the Salt Lake Chamber and the Kem C. Gardner Policy Institute on January 10 at the Grand America Hotel. As the state’s premier economic forecasting and public policy event, this summit is an invaluable opportunity to connect with policymakers, hear from experts and gain insights into the legislative issues that could shape the year ahead. By participating, you’ll help ensure that your business has a voice in the discussions that matter.
Additionally, the Chamber’s policy team is here to advocate on your behalf, and we need your input to do so effectively. Sharing your thoughts, concerns, experiences and priorities with us strengthens our collective voice and enhances our ability to influence decisions at the Capitol.
Staying informed is equally important. Follow our legislative updates, participate in committee meetings and attend public hearings whenever possible. Your involvement not only helps your business but also contributes to a thriving Utah economy and paves the way for future success.
The Salt Lake Chamber is committed to supporting a vibrant business community, and we’re excited to advocate with and for you during this legislative session. Together, we can ensure that Utah remains a place where businesses can grow, communities can prosper and opportunities can flourish.
If you have questions or need assistance in getting involved, our policy team is here to help. Contact us at policy@slchamber.com, and let’s work together to make 2025 a year of progress and collaboration.
Here’s to a successful legislative session and a prosperous year ahead!
