Speaking on Business: GREENbike

This is Derek Miller, Speaking on Business. GREENbike, Utah’s nonprofit bike share, provides affordable, convenient, and sustainable transportation. It connects residents to jobs, transit and recreation while promoting healthier lifestyles, reducing emissions and supporting a vibrant community across the Wasatch Front. Operations Director, Cameron Arellano, joins us with more.

Cameron Arellano:

GREENbike bridges people and places by providing an affordable, healthy, locally focused bike-share system. We help reduce vehicle congestion, improve Utah’s air quality and strengthen community connection.

Our vision is a healthier, more connected Utah where everyone — regardless of income or background — has access to safe, reliable and affordable transportation.

GREENbike operates in both Salt Lake City and Ogden with 50 stations and over 400 bikes in Salt Lake, and 14 stations and over 100 bikes in Ogden. In addition, about 35% of our fleet is electric, making it easier to replace short car trips with fast, clean, active travel.

We’ve seen nearly 130% growth in trips over the last two years, and we’re planning major system expansions in 2026 to meet rising demand. Through January, riders can get 25% off annual memberships bringing the price from $75 to $56 by using promo code Winter25.

Derek Miller:

GREENbike improves Utah communities by expanding mobility and creating safer streets. Their programs encourage active transportation and healthier, more connected neighborhoods. Learn more at GreenBikeUtah.org. I’m Derek Miller, with the Salt Lake Chamber, Speaking on Business.
