Speaking on Business: TreeUtah

This is Derek Miller, Speaking on Business. TreeUtah is dedicated to improving quality of life in Utah, now and for future generations, through tree planting, care, and education. By working with communities, they support biodiversity, promote clean air, and advance sustainable forestry. Executive Director, Amy May, joins us with more.

Amy May:

At TreeUtah, we believe that planting trees is one of the simplest and most powerful ways to create a healthier, more beautiful Utah. Since 1989, we’ve planted over 400,000 trees with the help of more than 185,000 volunteers across the state.

We collaborate with schools, businesses, and community groups to plant trees in public spaces, including city parks, school playgrounds, and restoration sites. Our ecological restoration efforts focus on planting native trees along the Jordan River Corridor and in the Wasatch Mountain Canyons to support local ecosystems, wildlife habitats, and climate resilience.

Through educational programs, we engage students from kindergarten to college, providing hands-on learning experiences about the importance of trees, conservation, and environmental stewardship. Whether you’re planting your first tree or your hundredth, join us in making Utah a greener, healthier place to live, work, and play. Derek Miller:

TreeUtah’s impact reaches far beyond planting trees — their work is a vital reminder that thoughtful action today can shape a more sustainable and beautiful Utah for generations to come. I’m Derek Miller, with the Salt Lake Chamber, Speaking on Business.
